Map Editor
Valve has released an official editor that will work for many of their games. It was originally distributed under the name Worldcraft, but is now called Hammer. The current version supports both Source and GoldSrc, and can only be accessed via a free download of the Source SDK, which is only available via Steam with purchase of a Source-based game. Version 3.5 is available for download at Filefront

Procedure for Using Maps.

After You have Downloaded Maps,Take the following steps:
1.Extract The Map [If Downloaded to ZIP]
2.Copy Ur Map to the following Directory
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[steamid]\counter-strike\cstrike\maps
3.Make Sure U Copy Paste all files which were un-extracted
4.If u have any other problems with the specific map u downloaded , there will be a "README" file available with every map which acts as a guide if u have any problem]

Different Types of Maps nd Map Mods.

1.De [ BomB Diffusal Match where Ts objective is to PLant the c4 nd get it to xplode nd cts objective to prevent t from planting c4 or diffuse c4 if planted]
2.Cs [Hostage Rescue Maps Where Ts have to prevent cts from Rescuing Any Hostage]
3.As [ Assassination Map where one of the cts act as a VIP nd other cts have to protect it , while ts have to kill the freakin VIP]
4.Aim [Aim Arena has teams that are restricted to one class of weapon and have no objectives except to eliminate the opposing team. Emphasis is placed on player's aim]
5.Awp [AWP Arena restricts players to AWPs only,improvement of AWP skillz of player]
6.Dm [Deathmatch Arena-styled maps used by deathmatch mods for CS and CS:S. These maps are usually small and simple like "fy" maps but adapted in order to have multiple spawn points.]
7.Fy [Frag Yard/Fun Yard is a map with an assortment of weapons spawning on the ground versus player inventory]
8.Fun [ Fun Map is a map with some strange objectives, contraptions or other mysterious things like 1+1 = 3 ,35 hp,1hp etc]
9.Gg [Gun game. The only objective on this map is to kill the other team. Weapons will advance as u kill the no. of opposing players in the objective]
10. he [HE Grenade Arena restricts players to Heavy Explosive grenades.]
11.ka [Knife Arena restricts players to knives only.]
12.pa [Prepared Assualt]
13.surf [Surf Maps (unofficial gamemode)]
14.texture [Secondary prefix. Denotes a map that only uses dev textures.]
15.ze [Zombie mod escape maps (unofficial gamemode)]
16 zm [Zombie mod barricade maps (unofficial gamemode)]

1.Download Any Custom Skin Pack,Custom Weapon Models etc.
2.Extract The Downloaded Model File
3.Copy Paste The Files to the following directory:
a)If Weapon Models nd Using Steam:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[Steamid]\counter-strike\cstrike\models [copy paste even if area is blank]
b)If NoN Steam:C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike\models\Guns [ if they ask files to be overwrited click Yes.but once u replace ur current models with new ones..its hard to get them back so make sure u make a back up file]
c)If Skin Models nd Using Steam:C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[Steamid]\counter-strike\cstrike\models\player
d)if NoN steam:C:\Program Files\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike\models\skins [same message as the in "b"]
